My Parents Anniversary

My parents had there 50th anniversary this month, they have always wanted a family picture. My family can never seem to be in the same place at the same time. However we decided to do it anyway. We all went to my brother house, which by the way use to be owned by my parents. It's the home I grew up in, and its so great we kept it in the family. Our friend Sarah came to take the photos,we are missing a few people though. We are missing one of my brothers and his 2 youngest boys and his daughter her DH and there baby. We are also missing my sister and her 2 kids, and my nieces DH couldn't get off work in time. That's...10 I think.

Beginning Again

I’ve decided to start blogging again. It seems to be the best way to communicate with family and friends that are more than a car ride away. It’s interesting how blogging has gotten popular in the last couple of years. I remember back when people looked at you and said “blogging? What’s blogging?” I started out with Live Journal or Dead Journal and then used Myspace blog for a long time. However when life gets busy with twins and a house, 3 fur babies, and then another little Rugglebug writing down the days antics really aren’t a priority. Getting in a shower, and remembering to eat lunch seems to be higher on the” to do list.” These days there are so many things the girls do or say that I want to tell people about and then totally forget about it when the phone rings, the baby cries, someone knocks at the door and the girls are doing jumping jacks in the living room all at the same.
Here’s another shot at putting it all down in type and beginning again.

Circus 2009

I am very ill, as some of you know this pregnancy has been difficult so far. I am 9 wks and this time around we can’t get my Hyperemesis under control. The Zofran pills combined with the others just isn’t working. Since DH is overseas we’ve had to move in with my parents until I can function better. Mostly I live on there sofa or bathroom floor in and out of consciousness. Not pretty. However months ago I bought tickets to take the girls to the Circus and I couldn’t bail on them. They really wanted to go. My parents drove us since the meds wont let me drive and my niece’s and nephew went with us. The circus is always fun, and I managed not to throw up while we were there.
My niece…..people say we look like sisters, even though shes 6 years younger than me.

How fast can I get to the Bathroom?

As you know I am pregnant. I thought i was only 5 wks along and i agreed to take the kiddos to the ocean for the weekend with family. Bad idea, like super awful bad idea. The morning we left BAM morning sickness struck, and struck and struck. It was bad the whole trip. When I got home I got to the doctor and i was over 6 wks, I also have Hyperemesis gravidarum again. I had it with the girls as well but it's worse this time around. For those of you who do not know what it is:
Nausea and vomiting are common in pregnancy, occurring in 70-85% of all gravid women.1 Hyperemesis gravidarum is a severe and intractable form of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. It is a diagnosis of exclusion and may result in weight loss; nutritional deficiencies; and abnormalities in fluids, electrolyte levels, and acid-base balance. The peak incidence is at 8-12 weeks of pregnancy, and symptoms usually resolve by week 20 in all but 10% of patients. Uncomplicated nausea and vomiting of pregnancy is generally associated with a lower rate of miscarriage, but hyperemesis gravidarum may affect the health and well-being of both the pregnant woman and the fetus.

It is terrible and you DO NOT want it. Ugh I thought I was going to lay down on the floor and die. Throwing up every 30 mins all day and all night, after about 3 days it's a trip to the ER for you. With the girls DH had to take me to the ER twice before I could get in to see a Doctor, I was so dehydrated.

I had to call my parents and go stay with them, because I can not take care of the girls or myself. There next door neighbor and a friend of mine was able to get me in to see her OB and he put me on meds, Zofran among other things. The pills weren't working so he put me on a pump, which looks like this :

A home health nurse came out to show me how to use it. The meds are in the bag you carry around and there is a needle in your leg that pumps in the meds. Every morning you have to stick yourself and put in a new needle in a new spot. So after a week my leg looks like this:

That's after it had been a few days and had time to heal. Even on the IV pump I was still throwing up. I know they say that the more you throw up the stronger the pregnancy but to me this is not a good beginning...

I told DH on the phone since he is already overseas, he said to make sure so I took several test. =)
Then i went over to my brothers for a big family swim party and
I printed out a card for my parents that said:

"First there were two,

Then there were four,

Now it's time to make room for one more"

It took them a few minutes to get it but then there were Hugs all around.

We are so excited!
